Our Role As Experts

As IP damages experts, our primary roles are to act as advocates and advisors for litigators. In disputes, we conduct extensive research and analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of both parties’ respective positions and to probe the many alternative theories and potential damages approaches. We are a resource for our clients and as such it is our duty to test different theories of the case at hand, to research alternative ideas, and to reject those that are least favorable.

On the stand, our testifying experts’ roles are to objectively articulate our clients’ opinions. We do not support the idea that an expert testifies to convince the court of a decision, rather an expert’s job is to assist the trier of fact in reaching a proper decision on the issues being faced. Our experts testify to aid the court by expressing a position and opinions that are based solely on fact. We believe this method of testifying to not only be the most ethical way of approaching a courtroom, but to be the most effective avenue for winning disputes, as well.
